President Herb Schoene brought the Board Meeting to order on October 14, 2008 at Webber Grill - Schaumburg at 6:14 P.M.

IN ATTENDANCE:

LAST MEETING’S MINUTES: 

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes. The motion carried.

 

TREASURERS REPORT:

 

A motion was made to approve the treasurer’s report, seconded and carried.
Joe Galllina presented a bill for $107.97 for expenses at the last meeting.
John Schalk presented a bill for $53.89 for rubber stamp and office supplies
Herb Schoene presented a bill for $60.00 P.O. Box renewal and picture frames.
A motion was made to pay the bills as presented.
Ending balance from 7-30-208 $3311.73, of this money
Bills paid: $ 42.00 stamps
Deposits: $ 200.00 dues
Balance 10-14-2008 $3469.73

COMMUNICATIONS REPORT: 


The newsletter has been sent out, will start working on the next one.

 

OLD BUSINESS REPORT: 


We have a date for November’s meeting, which is the 12th, at Oakton Community College in DesPlaines.

 

December 20 is at Chief O’Neils Christmas party. Minimum 25 people. Will have a buffet. Room is reserved. The selection of the menu and calculation of cost per person will be made at next board meeting.

It was discussed that we should drop the price of the Photoshop class being held in January to $5 a person, where MIPA picking up the rest of the cost. In doing this, we may get more members and students to come. New students can only mean new members. The price we charge will be determined at the next board meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:

Joe will contact some venders to see what kind of door prizes he can obtain for the Christmas party. A motion was made to make available to Joe, $200 to purchase door prizes and little trinkets for the party. Motion passes. Joe Gallina has been authorized to use in part or whole amount of the $200.
